Petr Čech - biography

Player with a record number of national team caps, multiple winner of the Czech Footballer of the Year award, winner of the prestigious Champions League, four-time Premier League champion and holder of many Czech and international records.

This introductory list of Petr Čech’s achievements already says a lot about how exceptional he is. Petr Čech went all the way from his youth beginnings on cinder football pitches to triumphs in gleaming world football stadiums. He started playing football for Pilsen, then joined the Czech First League club Blšany to later make his name at AC Sparta Prague. After winning the European Under-21 Championship, he left to gain international experience in Rennes, France.

He joined London-based Chelsea in 2004, and over his 11 years with the club he gained the status of a legend. After a four year stint with Arsenal at the end of his career, he returned to Stamford Bridge and now acts as Chelsea’s sporting and technical advisor.
